Iron Age Gold Coin Treasure Hoard Goes on Display

A hoard of 840 Iron Age gold coins goes on display at the Ipswich Museum.  The coins were found in 2008 by a metal detector hobbyist in Suffolk in 2008.

The Crown has lent some of the coins to the museum while it tries to raise the money to keep the coins. The numismatic value of the coins is estimated at over $500,000 dollars.

This is what makes coin collecting fun! It must be great to find some ancient coins.
